He is Sadique Assane, from the district of Namuno, in Cabo de Delgado. He is one of the displaced teachers currently assigned to the Complete Primary School (EPC) of Mirige, Montepuez district, since 2020. Assane used to teach at the Mangoma EPC in the district of Mocímboa da Praia, which saw its first extremist attack in October 2017.
Sadique tells us about the dramas she has experienced over the last four years, which culminated in her moving from Mocímboa da Praia to the Montepuez district. "When the armed men attacked us, they burned the village, my house and everything I had. I

I had to flee into the bush with my four children and my wife. We couldn't take anything with us when we left the house. Our documents were burned. After a few days we had to cross to the district of Mueda and we came to Montepuez." revealed.
Professor Assane also told us that of his four children, two are of school age, and their right to education was compromised for a few months as a result of the attacks. "My two children went almost half the year without

and when they re-entered school, we had to regrade them. These attacks greatly interfered with their educational performance. They now live with trauma. They're not the same" he said. UN figures show that extremist violence in Cabo Delgado province has already forced the displacement of more than 784,000 people, of whom around 300,000 are minors of school age, greatly compromising their school performance.
